BRANDING
For this project, I created branding materials for the Ottawa Youth Council, notably their Open House in 2024. The initiative supports youth who are interested in developing their communities firsthand. This project was a valuable moment of learning in regards to my target audience. My initial concepts were clean, moderate, and simple, but received encouragement from my supervisors to design something more attention-grabbing. So, I limited my colours to a small highly-contrasted palette, including a highlighter yellow, and I envisioned an aesthetic loosely based around pop-punk movements as well as vintage halftone comics. I'm proud of how the concept came together to create something unique and visionary that successfully targets an audience of mainly teenagers.
